Tas van?

Was chatting to a mate who runs a motor factor and had been sending some parts to what was Harrogate Horselsss Carriages. They asked for stuff to be to be sent by his quickest van, to which obvious reply was that would not be quite as quick as a TVR. This led them onto telling him that TVR did make some Tasmin vans and that a farmer still has one near Harrogate.
So I'm afraid I've got to ask the question if anyone knows anything about this, or is it just a bit of bizarre history thats been made up over the years...

There was at least one van, not made by TVR but converted elsewhere. In essence all they did was black out the side windows. IIRC it was a red vehicle.
There was also a Tas stripped down almost to a bare chassis and fitted with scaffolding to carry cameras for a Bond car chase (was it Die Another Day?)...

Edit: it was pictured in 'Sprint' in about '97.

I think you can see that in the "Wedgepages - specials" tucked away somewhere or it could even be in the pistonheads "wedge specials section"

There was one. It was made by TVR - sold as a van to avoid VAT (farmers eh) and it was red.
It was sold by Harrogate.

Mike Braim (apologies if I mispelt his name) or his father would have been the original owners.

That is correct, the factory did build the one example and I believe the reason was as stated in the previous post. I believe I have a photo of it somewhere in my collection, but I'll have to dig it out.

It originally began life as a Tasmin 200 Fixed Head Coupe in 1982 and was converted to "a van" during production.
I'm still trying to find a photo of it.
