Most of those little PITA jobs that needed doing on the wedge have been done over the past couple of days. Now sorted as follows (might be useful to other people having similar problems).
Passenger electric window u/s - Found feed and signal cable had become trapped in the door hinge. Continual opening and closing the door had caused 3 wires to chafe (chaf?) and break
. Pulled the wires back into by tyhe relay panel and 10 mins with the soldering iron and now as good as new.
Electric mirrors didn't work - Found all wiring disconnected from back of joystick (6 wires) after sorting out the short (see above - wires caught in hinge) and refitting all the wires. It is interesting the inside the switch has 2 of the 6 terninals that are common with one another - this is very important as it is very easy to get the switch unknowing upsidedown and blow lots of fuses (hehe:. All mirror motors also taken apart and greased for good measure.
Heater fan only had 1st speed - Took switch apart, cleaned and re-bent connection terminals, now works as good as new.
Heater control valve was stuck on cold and could not get warm air out the heater - cable found broken. New cable from an MGB (classic car spares place down the road) cut down a little did the trick. Now works.
Fuel Gauge constantly reading high - Realised that 2 of the connections green & green/black on the wrong way round. Fitted correctly, now works.
Hood tidy but looking its age - Applied some Renevo. Has come up like a new hood, all nice and black again.
Leather piping coming away from the centre veneer - stuck back on with evo-stick impack adhesive.
Door handles looking a little scabby - taken off, resprayed matt black, currently drying but looking great. Will refit tomorrow.
Gear knob loose - longer grubscrews used, now secure.
A very productive couple of days. Many of these jobs have been straight forward but where would I be without the wiring diagrams in the old Steve Heath Bible???
Now all thats left to do is touch up the interior where the paint someone has previously applied is starting to crack / peel. The leather dye has been colour matched and should be with me on Monday.
I'm gonna be soooooo bored next week

Well done Lee. All on my to do list but never got round to it, or in my case getting someone to do it.
