the lump on my se was rebuilt in 1997
does anyone out there know what this engine number means

CR 9.35 (obviously the compression ratio)
47A06605B

there must be some experts who know this sort of info

it looks as if the engine was made for morgan as it starts with 47a and ends then with a B and cc are 3,946cc

good start thanks for that
the history is that the engine had a rebuild by tvr power in 1997
they reused the heads etc which were se specific but used a new block , crank , rods acording to the reciepts
now funny you should say the block was made for a morgan as the garage who fitted the engine after tvr power had rebuilt the heads etc was also a morgan dealer !
