Is My Goose Cooked

Seriously, I have a year old and not many miles set of radiator caps on my gooseneck and overflow - with no signs of leaks. I was in the engine room charging the battery tonight (my wedge has been resting up this summer b/c of the Texas heat) and notice the gooseneck cap is covered with white corrosion. The cap on the over-flow is clean. Any ideas??? thanks, Grady

Quick spray of WD40 .. it could be just surface rust..

Surely not white rust? It looks more like battery corrosion. I'll look more closely tonight.

white could be aluminium oxide or calcium.

Could it be antifreeze - what type do you use?

I get a slight seepage of blue around my gooseneck filler cap. It doesn't loose too much water - perhaps one top-up between services.
