advice on selling

Gutted as I am, the harsh reality of a new house purchase may require assets to be liquidated..which may mean Berty, my lovely 350i, has to go. What is the general advice on passing on these precious things? Autotrader? Ebay? Pistonheads Classifieds? through the Club eg Sprint? I don't want him to go to some tyre kickin' moron and I HATE selling cars at the best of times (joe public is SO annoying) so i assume thru the club or PH is best - but has anyone got any specific advice on making this as pain-free as possible?

Pistonheads best for attracting enthusiasts I think, but you need to be patient and prepared to e-mail lots of photos and info to potential buyers. Autotrader seemed to attract a load of hoax queries.

If you put it on PH you need lots of photos, an honest detailed dscription and price it realistically.

thanks for your advice - sounds good. what's realistic for a low mileage Series 1 350i convertible, A1 condition throughout? I was thinking about 4500?

Thats more or less what I got for mine (www.pistonheads.com/sales/93902.htm), so it does not seem unreasonable as a starting price, bearing in kind you will be chipped down a bit. If its a minter it might be worth a bit more to someone, just depends on your buyer.

Well I put my 400 on Ebay and I got 6k for it which is what I was asking on PH.
