Help !!! Fuel problem

I have just finally ( after a year )got my 280i through its MOT, but on returing, parked on the drive and went for a coffee. When I came out to put my new toy away she would not start 2 1/2 hours later still no start after playing with timing, co, plugs etc, etc. On pushing her into the garage I noticed a pool of petrol under the rear, so I thought, no problem leaking hose, no pressure!
So tonight I have been under her and can I find a leaking hose NO, but the petrol is coming fronm a previous welded repair in the exhaust silencer !!!!!!!! Does this mean the exhaust is full of petrol, and what is the problem ?
Also tonight on turning the engine it seems to lock on starter, but pushes in gear okay.

sounds like it has flooded, remove the plugs overnite and try again tomorrow.

Yes I would think that also, but all I have done tonight is had the fuel pump powered trying to find the leak. I have not have the engine turning.

If it's flooded try removing fuel pump fuse and cranking till it fires.

Car now melted !!!!!!! with engine fire.
