Drop links

Fitted SH drop links a few month ago.
Supurb kit at a very sensible price.
Fitting instruction give an option for the rubber tube to be either side of the link.
I fitted it inboard as this seems to hold the link square to the roll bar. However 6 month on whilst looking for various noises I find the tube has pushed part way onto the roll bar and the links are free to slide about 5mm along the bar. (bar very polished - so they are moving)
Simple question - how has anybody else fitted them and have you the same 'problem'. ?

i fitted them to an s and turned up some bits of ali tube instead of the rubber in case the bits of hose rode up over the arb ......
links are fine but IMHO you really need some solid spacers
the problem is that the spacers needed would be different for almost every car so it's hard to sell a kit
make some new spacers out of ali or plastic or something rather than rubber

I fitted mine last week - my rubber spacer seemed best mounted inboard.

There is a large washer that goes on to the bar first - before the tube.. to stop it pushing onto the roll bar - see picture.

With mine only one washer and the instructions say "the large washer goes between the spacer and the rose joint"

I will make a solid spacer or perhaps first try an addition washer as per above.

Maybe SH has changed the instructions.. with hindsight and all that..

I think the solution is for me to supply two washers in future.

Making ally spacers is virtually impossible as the length does vary. The rubber spacer works well but it does rely on there being a good shoulder on the ARB.

My roll bar has a chamfer where it changes dia. so the rubber spacer does ride up.
Looking at it an additional washer at this point will do the trick.
