its the 3rd time advertized. owner says chassis is good and the powder-coating is present. but guy who advertized it is toooo busy to take further pictures. spare-wheel is missing.

what do you think?

I don't know anything about the car although from the photos it looks nice.
Two owners from new is an added bonus - providing the have kept it in tip-top condition.

The only way you can make your mind up is to view the car, checking all the obvious and known weak points.

Providing where you are in the counrty (and where the wedge is), no doubt someone on here who knows a little about wedges will come and view the car with you...

i´m from germany....london area would be ok for viewing due to lowcost airlines...but unfortunately the car is located in middle/north of uk....this means: buying without viewing....a bit riscy...

seats are new did the owner tell me...glovebox-wood is cracked, door seals look worn, paint on sills is sraped-off from door (seams that door has dropped)....

the owner deals with cars (as i understood on fone)....i think there might be something wrong with the car...

nobody living in the area of shildon and maybe could view the car for me?

Shildon is not too far from me, Uriel, Hargo, Lesley Hedley and a few others... we could go along mob-handed, pull it to pieces and talk the price down

The grey powder coating on the early 350i's is much better than after they took the job in house. I notice the fog lights are missing, but it looks like a nice car overall.

the problem with the powder-coating is:

all the owners seam to have differnt opinions what an "intact" powder coating means.

somebody sent me pictures of another wedge a few days ago:

"powder coating 100% present, chassis in perfect condition, new mot".

i opended the pictures and the chassis was totally rusty, outtriggers totally rotten, and none(!!!) of the plastic-coating remaining....

Nearly all the grey powder coating on my 1984 350i is still there after 90,000 miles. Only gone where it been badly jacked up etc. It really is a lot more resistant to peeling than the black crap TVR stuck on them after they took the job off the guy who knew what he was doing.

Exactly what the man says. Mine is an 83 Tasmin and the powder coating is all in tact, only small rust marks where it has been chipped. The rust doesnt travel down it as it seems to with some cars. This is probably what gives powder coating a bad name.

on my 82 tasmin the powder-coating is also like new...the car has around 80000miles...

on a ´81 tasmin 2+2 i owned in the past was none of the powder-coating left....

Looks like 82 to mid'85(?) was the golden era of properly powder coated TVR chassis then.

Yes I know this car, I bought it! It is very nice. The chassis has virtualy all the grey plasticoat. Needs some work and a wing mirror if you can help?

Your comments would be correct without the sarcasm! You posted a request for info on an ebay auction due to end the next day in the hope that some real, nice, fair community minded soul would view it for you? I don't think the buyer saw a towel on it when he bid for it?

i got trained from my parents that if somebody else recognizers something or calls attention on something, i should first ask if i´m allowed to take it.

i expected something like that would happen when i posted the ebay-link here.

this has to do with self-respect and proudness....but this has gone lost in our modern way of live. everybody is only concentrated on taking an advantage of something.

anyway...as i found a 280 tasmin at same time, the red one wasnt interesting anymore.

Actualy I saw the car well before you, several times. Its also not quite the same deal as you were after as I paid few hundred less.lol. I bougth the car then saw it on PH to clear up confusion.
