Does it seem a bit optimistic to expect that circuits will be in a position to give a date for 2007 by the deadline for the December Sprint? Everything seems to be on hold until the TVRCC sort themselves out anyway.

Date for BBWF2007 is NOT on hold it's up to the "Wedge Massive" and the venue. Gandalf has been doing some homework and assuming we go back to ET these two dates look good: a). July 21/22
b). July 28/29 or indeed august/september
Nobody wants to clash with whatever but somebody has to make a decision to get things sorted. Do we wait or bite the bullet?

I too would like to do both, and from what i can see both organisations are doing what they can to avoid a clash. This may not be possible but i hope it is.
With the TVRCC trying to arrange their event at a circuit with a round of the Tuscan challenge I stand more chance of being able to make it than usual..
every single BBWF has clashed with a race weekend, even the first one that I made with the race taz (complete with chassis that bust in qually that morning) but thats just what happens, you cant please all of the people all of the time.
It looks to me like the tvrcc and the wedge missive are trying to work together, nobody is trying to dictate how anyone elses event is organised just to try and see if clashes can be avoided.

Agree with nearly all of this Graham. But (i really don't want to rake over the past). Last year we announced our date, then TVRCC Challenge dates were announced and Silverstone clashed with BBWF, we were told by TVRCC this could not be changed, then BH was announced as the same date and lo and behold Silverstone date was changed!! Somebody has to bite the bullet and decide.

Is it fair to rush in half-cocked and force Wedge drivers to choose between two quality events - or would it be better to hang on for a short while to see when we could schedule both events so that we Wedge drivers have a choice?

One of many dilemas Howard. some people would like to see the racers race. The racers would like to attend BBWF. Personally the more Wedges that attend the better so I would prefer BBWF not to clash with a race. But hey-ho that's only my opinion which is why I'ts right to discuss this openly. There also comes the problem of weddings and such booking ET (if we go there) getting what is already limited dates. There is no panic at the moment (unless we change venue in which case a lot of work would have to be re-planned)just trying to give everybody chance for their say.

Difficulty is Rich that if anything isn't to clash with the race dates it obviously means waiting until they are announced which could be a while yet.
Having said that, the F1 dates are out very early this time - so we do stand a chance.
Big Bad (Tuscan Challenge) Wedge Fest - what a fantastic idea!
So what we are looking for is a hotel with at least 100 rooms and parking for 200 cars, plus traders,
somewhere North of Stratford,
within walking distance of a good pub serving real ale and Tug o War facilities,
with understanding management
and its own racetrack
which is free on whatever weekend that nothing else is on,
and will suit 120 Wedge owners personal calendars -
C`mon how difficult can that be to find?

As a first time attendee this year, I thought the hotel and pub both worked well, although I can understand that if you've been there three years running, a change might be nice. In terms of location, it was about 2.5 hrs north from me, (which I'm sure was nothing compared to some journeys) so personally, I would be less keen to see a move much further away. Without wanting to make it overly complicated, is it worth attempting to establish what sort of area would be closest to the bulk of potential attendees - say if everyone posted the name of their home town (we'd obviously have to exclude the Continental visitors, otherwise we'd end up somewhere in the North Sea ) Just a thought....

Why do we have to fit in with anyone else's calendar? Last year we had the biggest clash of dates that you could expect and still had a fantastic time.
With 80-130 cars expected I think we can call the shots.
Any date is always going to clash with some other event from F1 at Silverstone to Aunt Dorris getting married. So those that want to go to BBWF on the same day are going to have to make a choice.
So make it and go, or dont.
So stick a pin in a map(calendar) and let the Wedges gather.
Personally I think Ettington Chase is OK but the roads around it are a bit drab. The pub was A1++++.
BBWF could be in the middle of a field. As long as the Dutch turn up and beer is present a good time will be had.
