Can anyone tell me what type of bulbs the wedge has in the dipped lights and in the main beam ones?

One main beam has gone and I keep forgetting to change it, still amazed how much light just one produces.

Not sure what bulbs I have in mine, only that the one on the offside must be very heavy as quite often it doesn't lift up!

Agree with above - std H4 twin fitment on my 350se
Side light is via dim-dip system using main bulb
You can use the various 'super bright' bulbs available in H4
Not sure how good the brighter bulbs are - anybody using - any recommendations ??

I think a lot of the dimness is due to the spindly wire and circuitous route that the juice takes in order to reach the lights. I've a good mind to design an upgrade package...

I have the brighter "off road" spec bulbs in the 400. They are last better as they are more resistant to vibration.

I bought some super bright 50% better etc from Halfords for my BM and they're sh*te

Thanks, I've tried many lights in my Type-R (ended up giving the buyer 12 bulbs I think!) and found the 'Polarg Shinning Wizard' bulbs were the best. I'll see if I can find any decent priced ones.

It is actually a main beam light (cibie ones) that has blown - can anyone tell me what bulb these use?

Standard 7 inch round Cibie use H4 bulbs

I'm meaning the rectangular lights - not the ones that popup.

The driving lights are H2 50W 12volt. Most places seem not to stock them, halfords do but at a price!

Are you sure you're driving a Wedge?

My 400 has sealed rectangular units in for the main / dip so dreading it when one of them goes. Any one know of a replacement lense ?

If you are in the market of upgrading your lights and the system is running with H4 pattern bulbs i would use PIAA bulbs, ive used them for a few years now and they are the best on the market, the only problem is there arnt the cheapest on the market but as for reliability

This is what im running in the SEAC and the light is very good, its a shame the lenses are crap, one day ill find a good upgrade and make it a better night time car...
If you want the best and i think all of us wedge owners want then this is the ticket...

Paul if its the driving lamps you mean here is the address Hormone gave me very usefull I got a pair of driving lamps they are cibie 35 airport as some of the experts on here told me the guy is called Les Twigg and the site is [e-mail] hope this helps.

Are you sure you're driving a Wedge?

Am only talking about main/full beam. Hadn't realised the normal lights have a main beam as well as the driving lights - hence why 3 out out of 4 produce a lot of light ...

My dealer gave me a bulb to try but warned me it was probably a loose connection.

The dipped lights aren't great. HID upgrade?

I've checked my bulbs in the past, and they appeared to be 100/65 or such like - I was told these were "off road" bulbs". - Not the usual 65/55 or whatever.
I get LOTS of light. I tried putting a standard type bulb in and it just looked very dull. Could it be that the TVR dim/dip solution (is it just a big resistor?) , coupled with the way the 400 lights are configured means that you need to use the off road bulb in order to get the "normal" level of light?
