i got offered to buy a 1981, LHD, Tasmin-Coupe, with a Turbo Convertion, car left the factory as a standard 280 and soon converted by a TVR-Engineer to a Turbo. The car can be run as turbo and in about 1h work, its back to standard. the car is located in central europe.

is this interesting?

At least worth a testdrive?
And the price: I was always amazed about prices in Germany, but for this example it is not too bad considering: Probably the most expensive TVR country in the world is/was Germany. If you saw a secondhand standard 350i they probably still want at least 20.000 Euros for it (was close to 30.000 5-10 years ago)!

from my point of view the car is much too expensive. most dont care about RHD or LHD, but some seller think a LHD has a bigger value...a british car is a british car, so he MUST have RHD (thats my personal opinion).

e.g.: another car dealer trys to sell several 280 tasmin convertibles for around 6500,-€, nice looking outside, inside, enginebay....underneath...hmmmm....new "german" V5, new german mot.....and the cars are advertized since months!!!

he auctioned one of them several times at ebay, starting bid 1,-€ (with a reserve somewhere around 6500,-) and the car reached always between 2000,- and 2500,-€ and never more!!!!

if you are lucky and have time you can sell one "in typical british condition" for 4000-4500,-€...an early 350 for maybe 6000,-

for a good (not "british" definition of good) 280 in UK the max price is 2500,-pound!! and than the chassis must be perfect with 100% powder-coating , non welded.

all above cars are built before 1986, as later cars couldnt be driven with a special, historic no.-plate with a fixed tax of around 190,-€ here.
so for later ones you have to pay 25,36€ tax per 100ccm of engine size, that means 28x25,36=710,-€ tax per year, for a 350 it makes 887,-euro!!!

thats the reality!!
