steel braided hoses--which type?

as my wedge must visit the garage for a rear brake caliper repair, i thought to use this opportunity to change the brake hoses.

as i must order them in advance, i need to know if the front ones are same on ford-models (which model?) and the rear one is from...?

also helpful would be the length and thread.

Just give TVR car parts a call - I'm sure they have sold them before to me..

hi, i´m not interested to finance TVR´s russian owner....lol.... and as i live in germany i want to buy such "standard" items somewhere local....

TVR Car Parts are an English company run by TVR enthusiasts, and not (as far as I know!) related to TVR Engineering.

As Pete says - they are not Russian owners and the cost is around £60 for a set of front & rear hoses.

Alternativly you can make them up yourself as sppedflow/ earls etc will sell you the ends and the hose and they just nut and bolt together ( well actually its pretty fiddly, but you don't any more kit than a vice, spanners and some decent metal shears)

ah...ok...there is a differnce between tvr car parts and engineering...i didnt know that...good advice!!

but i still dont know from which other cars they will fit...as i want to buy them on the local market. it must be from a well known brand, with an "E" certificate, as i dont want to loose my insurance and get trouble with the german-mot.

braided hoses won't usually come with an e mark
they won't pass the whip tests which is why OE stuff is usually rubber
in fact i don't think i've ever seen a production vehicle with braided brake hoses
has anyone else ?

For the flexible part of the system braided hoses, yes. Like at the front. These must be available with TUV-approval in Germany. At the back it is a jaguar setup, perhaps contact a few jaguar specialists (Arden perhaps, they must know) and ask the question. If you are lucky you can order them at the same time.
