anybody has expierience in fitting wider tyres on rear than front. i think about dimensions 225/55/16 on rear and 205/45/16 front.
the background is, when i would fit the same dimension on front the wheel diameter gets too big and the tyre touches the body in curves.
i also recognized that even with the original wheels/tyres (206/60-14) the gap (in front) between the wheel and the body is only a few milimetres.

The idea of having a narrower tyre on the front is to improve the turn in of the car.
The original wheel/tyre size (205/14) gives you a wheel/tyre dimension of 478.5mm radius if my maths is working ok today and your suggested new size (205/60) would give you 498.5mm radius thus LOSING 20mm clearance of the wheel to the arch so I think giving you the wrong result.
Personally I don't see a problem with shaving some of the wheel arch material off of the bodywork to give you a better clearance when turning the steering to full lock.

i bought a complete set of Ronal-Wheels with 225/50 R16V tyres formerly fitted on Mercedes or VW-Bus T3, as they have also 5x112mm.
on fronts i cant use the "old" tyres so i decided to buy new 205/45 R16...so i gain around 10mm more space.
on rear there is enough space for the 225/50 ones. my speedometer will not read correctly anymore, but who cares!!!

Nope - the centres have already been machined so they fit properly. Tallbloke sorted this part of it out, so I didn't get involved, but basically each stud hole was ground out a little towards the centre, making sure that the gringing was symmetrical. The wheels went on easily, and I checked the rotation which was very even - no signs of anything being off-centre.
The clearance at the back with the A-frame tie bars is quite tight, and also at the front they rub on full lock, so they could do with about 10 to 20mm stepping out, which would probably improve the geometry too.
