Solved? wing mirrors for your wedge?

After trying to find the origonal ones I have now given up. Early wedge wing mirrors seem to be a real problem. Solutions:
1. Buy an after market boy racer-esc wing mirror, these were two expencive for what they were in my opinion.
2. Buy classics wing mirrors, these IMHO are too chrome for a tvr but with the chrome door handles could work.
3. Find a modern car with somthing that might do? and are electric.
I have done 3. and over the last weeks have been sorting out which cars have door mounted mirrors (a surprising amount) here is a list for any one who wishes to look into the possibility. I have got some Audi 80 mirrors as they are electric like the TVR ones and heated? Plus they look the most wedgy! May need to make some angled plates to attach to the car though?
Mini (new): too round
Mini (old): too small?
Audi 80: IMHO the best if the mount angle is right!
Deawoo Matiz: Could work well little round
Honda Jazz: again could work
Mazda MX-5: Mount on top of door as appose to the side? and seem to be rather expensive?
Fiat Barchetta: hard to come by

Weren't there citroen CX door mirrors mounted on TVR S? Perhaps a way forwards, and even TVR OEM stuff....

Yes, S and Griff mirrors are from a citroen but are complex and I would think difficult to adapt for a Wedge, I have seen an early FHC with mirrors from a late 80s Jag XJ?, I think, they looked good, plenty in the breakers yard too

On my Tasmin I fitted some Halfords specials: they were intended to be screwed to the door, in the same way as the original Tasmin mirrors did.
I adapted mine to mount on the triangular fillets at the front of the doors, Glen The Paint colour-matched them to the car and they worked quite well. A bit small but certainly no worse than the factory-fitted ones on my 390SE.

I had a look at the fitting of the audi mirrors and its a no go. 1 the mount angle is wrong and 2 it would require cutting a bit out of the door. I was thinking about designing a mount braket and assking a local engineering firm to make two up? could also help others in my position? but would you want aluminum or steel braketts on your car?
my search continues, the deamon tweaks ones sound good but just look a bit cheap and not electric?
