Hello all, first time poster here

Has anyone found that the wiper arm frequently requires the 2 "locking" nuts to be re-tightened. The wiper on my 350i seems to work well for a few months, depending on the weather, then will slow stop traveling the length of the windscreen. Eventually the windscreen wiper motor will try and move the arm but just clicks.

After re tightening and ensuring it sweeps the majority of the windscreen it will be fine for a while again. Just a small bug but annoying all the same.

Fair point about the thread lock or loctite!

You can't tighten it any more without probably threading it tbh. Cheers

I did but found I couldn't see out so had to change back to a clear screen in my hood.

Slightly O/T but does anyone know where I can get the correct wiper arm for an '82 Tasmin 200.
It might help me see the road this winter!

Sounds like this might have happened to mine. Any tips for tightening these 2?

Cant say its ever happened to me and i have removed them on both cars and put back on...A bit of lock thread might stop it from happening...Ziga

Is the nut on the inside of the car accessible? Can't check myself right now. It's not completely blocked by the dash or anything?

I always thought the spline from the motor was pushed up from underneath and then a large locking nut secures it in place on the outside...The arm has a splined hole that goes over the spline of the motor and a lock nut is use to secure the arm on...Not sure if there is actually another nut under the top bonnet valance???....

Noticed the spine on my 400se had worn and even when fully tightens it slips on the arm. Found a quick fix till I get a new arm by wrapping a sliver of sand paper to pack and bite into the arm and shaft. Has worked so well since February I haven't thought of it since.

Of course you're spot on. The splined hole in the wiper arm is perfectly smooth! Got a potential fix with a MK2 Fiesta rear wiper. Here's hoping

Or replace the nuts with nylock nuts?
