Battery light............

Guys

I had an early start going to work today in Bristol, so woke the nice neighbours up at stupid o'clock when I decided to take the Wedge .
Not noticed this before and not having any trouble at all with the car in any way, that the battery light was extremely dimly light while travelling.


Should I be concerned about this???? or am I being a numpty.

time for a new alternator.

Out of interest how loose / tight is the fan belt, as this can also cause this sort of issue, and cheaper than an alternator Check with a multimeter to see what volts is getting to the battery or ask an adult for safety reasons

Worked for me, same problem, same solution £65. take the old one with you, dont tell em its for a TVR, tell em its for an old V8 Landrover.

Is the battery voltage looking OK? A dim glow that doesn't change much with load probably indicates a slight voltage drop on the switched ignition feed. If it varies when you turn on things that are ignition switched (heater fan is a favorite) that would also suggest this.
