lucas Rotor Arms

Last week i picked up a small batch of genuine Lucas rotor arms which looked like V8 ones, however, comparing them to a spare I had they are different. The main body mouldings and contact arms are identical, the difference being that they have a shoulder approx 3mm moulded into them at the end of the mounting recess. The code number on them is 54402689 rather than 54401050. When the shoulder is ground off they appear to be a perfect fit and at the correct height? Can anybody confirm what they are off, I am guessing they are for the older contact breaker type lucas distributor?

Could be David: there were several different dissie caps as well!

Got once one of those, when buying a new rotor and cap. As you said it has a small shoulder inside, and think mine was for 3.5i defender. Found another type that does fit as original, but is for much later '90s RV8. Seems that different distributers are/were used, with different shaft ends and heights causing the differences.
