Yes, it COULD be done, but take a look at the engine bay: if you were going to the lengths of taking the shell off, wouldn't you tidy up the bits you could then get at? Maybe replace fasteners, pipes etc.? Doesn't look like it to me. And all that costs money, takes time. People usually want something back for the hassle.
If it WAS that good a job, someone would have paid the £5K or whatever was originally being asked.
One thing I noticed when Al had the car: the cross-rail at the rear, above the horizontal glass and below the tailgate, was rusty (!). It looked to me as though someone (prior to Al) had repaired it by glassing-in a sheet of tin that had then rusted...

Wasn't going to post but hey ho.
Yup, that's my old car and although I can't say whether it has had all the other work carried out, it definitely hasn't had a body off restoration.
In the limited history there are 2 or 3 colour pictures of the outriggers ( with the sill covers removed ) painted with that black spray on underseal. That was done by RT back in 2000 according to a receipt. When I sold it the covering was coming off but the chassis was still solid.
Hopefully the prospective bidder has looked into this before bidding ....... ?

Ian: Ahh, I thought he was claiming it had had one previous to him owning it.
If he'd done the body off surely he'd have tidied up the engine bay like you said or at least got rid of my household plumbing 'modification'

guys i thought i was in better company
and hargo,i expected better from you,i bought your car and did what i said i was doing including lifting the body off the chassis and you are by far the closest and im sure you coulkd have come and had a look at the condition of the car
i have done all the work i listed on my ebay advert
i even offered anybody the opertunity to have the car inspected anyware at my cost
BUT NO YOU GUYS,WHO LETS FACE IT MUST BE 'THE PEOPLE' TO CONSULT ON WEDGE TVR'S DECIDED TO PUBLICALLY SLAG IT....AGAIN
