the saga of non firing injectors carries on! Right then chaps, my tasmin 350 has a lucas 4cu-83986b ecu, is this interchageable with other lucas 4cu units for 3.5 engines, ie range rover sd1 etc? Or are their differences in the chip programming.

Yes it's interchangeable. Whether the car starts, idles or runs will then depend on the fuelling 'programming'of the other ECU(s) - and also assumes there are no other faults with any other ECU you try.

AFAIK the 4cu ecus are all the same, be they SD1, RR, LR or whatevr. Mine has got Landrover written on the front.

Hence MegaSquirt will be coming to a Wedge very near me very soon. WEll, that and the dizzy isnt in its first flush of youth...

If I was you - I would go for the basic's first.

Do you have a spark.

Do you have fuel (pop the pipes into an empty container and crank)

If that checks out ..

You need a friend with a similar car to spare bits - until you find the culprit..

ECU and Airflow are easy to swap.

Thanks Rev-erend, been through the basics many times, (lots of bleeding knuckles as proof)
Big fat sparks at plugs, sprayed 98ron all over my jumper off the fuel rail, and now have intimate relations in bed with the the EFI pdf and a flaming multi-tester!
