sound test ,northants pistonheads meet - events/meets

Ok I won my first sound test against a few cerbs and chims , no big deal I suppose but I'm chuffed with the new sound system , the test was a static one , I was 9db ahead of competition ,and drive by test , only 0.2 ahead , not such an easy one to time the loud bit though just when passing the meter . Makes the wedge a whole new experience .

9db that means you were eight times louder than the next car, I think!

Doesn't seem to be a drive by sound test at the wedge fest , obviously a nice straight is needed and no houses on either side to get enough speed/revs .

To be honest there wasn't much competition ie no other BBW's , why aren't there any around here ? The new piece of stainless drain pipe slots in very nicely once six bolts are undone to remove the small box in the middle ! That sound though , its absolute heaven !! Must get out more in the wedge and terrify the locality !

Your Wedges aren't as loud as you make out - I was only 3.7 behind according to my maths (120.2db against my 116.5db)

Yours did sound good though Combine, think you may have done better on the drive-by if there hadn't been so much traffic suddenly appear when you went out. It was difficult to judge when to hit the loud pedal though I agree

The figures I quoted were from the chap who held the meter , on his chart/clipboard , better check with mark skinner then !

Quick maths lesson for you chaps. Decibels are ratios using a logarithmic scale. A drop of 3 dB equates to 0.50 level drop.
Based on your figures Marky - Combines Wedge is TWICE as loud as your Cerby (which is a lot louder)
