I'm in the process of getting a new swirl pot made with improved anti-surge features for the 520SX as the previous design based on the original can't cope too well. It also doesn't put any strain on the tank feeds so that they don't crack and start to weep as it is supported by the chassis. It's made from tig welded ally. price looks like the £80 ish mark.

It will fit most wedges with the 15mm ish T feed. e.g seacs, 350I, 400s etc.

Is there any interest in Wedge land?

Hmm - doesn't the SX monicker imply a SprinteX? With a Vortech on board - 520VX? - or does that sound too much like a Vauxhall?

I had a new one made last year by SH lot, very nicely made and no chance of it rooting away under the car.
The one on my seac needed 25mm pipes on the T peace but they could have been made a little longer.

They should have been standard on all tivs that require then.

Me too also interested. Though not in dire need, I aim to get the pipes sorted around the tank soon and wouldn't like to bet on the old one being too good.

Where = Between the fuel tanks and the fuel pump.
What = It prevents fuel surge in the tanks affecting supply to the pump.

As the fuel supply to the pump is gravity fed, without a swirl pot, flow would be dependant on which direction gravity was pointing at that particular time The swirl-pot is effectively a reservoir placed immediately before the pump which buffers/stabilises the inlet pressure/flow to the pump. It also allows air to drop out of the fuel before it enters the pump.
