Stalling and won't start again easily

Recently I've found that my car stalls easily just after starting (nothing strange there when its cold) but then when I try to restart it the engine seems like it is flooded and takes a few minutes before it will start again.
It never used to do this, is there anything obvious that's might contribute towards this?
It just isn't ideal when you've pulled away, got to a stupid 'pipe' style speedbump and then stall trying to go over it at 1mph and can't restart the engine! (In the dark with your lights off so you don't run the battery down)
I suppose one solution is just to let it warm up for a few minutes before setting off.
