pod goes half way up -help?

I suppose if i will insist on driving it more then more will go wrong! LH headlamp has now decided to go half way up unless i give it a hand. Same on the way down - so it seems like it just gets stuck half way - is this common and easy to fix?

Check that there is nothing stopping it, sometimes the bolt in the side of the pod can come loose. If there is nothing obvious then take the link arm off and grease it. If this doesn't work then you may need to take the motor apart and grease it. None of it is that difficult.

Check the crank arm on the side of the lift motor, the shaped hole can become worn and this allows the drive shaft to spin without lifting the pod all the way up. If this is what is happening, the crank arm shaped hole can be re-aligned with the aid of a vice and a hammer! gently does it though.

I'd go with the worn (or loose) crank arm... or the nylon gear in the unit has stripped. The way the electrics are configured, a mechanical issue that jammed the pod would leave power on to the motor until either the battery went flat or the motor caught fire. Or both
So nothing serious then...

THe crank arm bearings can also get a bit tight, taking it off and greasing them can help here. I use moly grease.

ok - will have a go at all the above - cheers chaps. I wonder why no-one makes cars with popup lamps any more...?
