Boot Release

Went out in my 350i today, but couldn t get the boot release to work. Its bin a bit hit and miss lately and has now finally given up. I ve seen past threads where there is a way to get in to the boot on wedges. Can someone please email me the trick to get the boot open without using the switch. My e mail is [e-mail]. Also is there anything simple I should check first before pulling bits of wiring and switches out?
