£392 next year for the wedge ? Daylight robbery if you ask me , similar for our two 4wd's and not far off that for the '7' .So maybe the wife's 4wd is for the chop !

i didnt think the wedge fell in band g because of its age is it only for cars registered after 06 someone enlighten me and will my (98R) seat alhambra 2.0 go up in price??

Edited to say the new band "G" (£400) for chelsea tractors (4x4's) and other car with high emissions will only be applicable to new cars.

thats handy but if i had to i, like many others would pay 400 to tax my wedge because the enjoyment i get is worth it higher taxes will not get every one on the bus!!

That price is the same for any passenger vehicle no matter its worth.

If you go to the DVLA site and folloow the link to 'how much will it cost' you get directed to the wrong page. If you follow a roundabout route you will reach the proper page where the higher tax bands only apply to cars first registered after 2001 I think and 2006. I'll try to find it again and put up a link.

Just taxed my 350i today - £99:00 for six months - up £2:75 from last time.

Really don't know why we should have to pay that especially doing less than 3K miles per year.
Time the government revised the cut off year for excemption - suppose that's another topic.

Why should they change it? It's a penalty for having the audacity to want your own transport.

I've come up with the ideal solution to get out of giving Blair and co. any more of my money than I need to:

1. sell the TVR
2. emigrate

Yeah, I rather suspect the 9-month winters and freezing darkness might put me off that idea
