350i window mechanism

hi all anyone know where i can get hold of a window mechanism, preferably with window, for a 1988 mk2 350i convertable, ive tried bell hill and tve carparts without any joy so any furthur suggestions would be much appreciated

Why do you need the whole mechanism - did the door get panned in?

You can still get the runner at the bottom of the window from Rimmer Bros.

THe scissor mechanism might be range rover? Or else you'll have to repair it.

Just need to refit the TVR modified bolt to limit the window travel to the new one.

hi all thanks for your replies, all i can tell you is that the garage i use has advised me to try to get hold of the whole mechanism. the flange that the actual window sits in has basically opened up and no longer holds the window, have tried to squeeze back together so that it holds the window in place, as at the mo the window keeps coming out of the runner, to no avail, the car hasnt had any whack of any kind, the window got caught on the targa top when i tried to open it and this is the cause of the prob, hence forcing the flange apart. Dare not open the passenger window in case it falls out of the runner again and am unable to close it. If anyone knows of an easier solution or the best way to go i'll be glad of any furthur advice

How about securing the glass to the runner with silicone or something like no nails?
The height of the glass can be adjusted inside the door, there is a cable with adjustment that will stop it catching the targa roof

Yeah in that case all you need is the runner part, from Rimmer Bros. The scissor mechanism will be fine.

I'll have to confirm this but the part you need is probably :

I would confirm this now but my post seems to have been deleted.

Usually you can re-use the rubbers, but if you can't, an old bike innertube will do the trick.

Hi all thanks to you all for the advise, tips and information,i got a lot more help from you guys than i did from posting on the main TVR forum,i know where to come in future,looks like i have got the window/frame sorted,thr other half will be happy now she,l be able to open the window and shout abuse at non TVR owners.
