What's funny? I bought a pair two or three years ago, stripped and blasted them, started making some 10mm spacers, got seal kits, longer bolts, the full bit... and they've just bloody sat there going rusty again...grumpy

Are they servicable? If so will you exchange them for some beer tokens?

If the calipers you have are exactly like the ones in the link, then they definitely aren't Princess/Ambassador calipers. I compared the photos to my Princess calipers.

The linky showed that the pistons are two different sizes and the flexible hose bolts straight into the back of the caliper. These are not Princess calipers. shows Princess caliper (front) and SD1 unvented caliper (rear).

Lockheed put out a lot of similar calipers to fit things like Rover SD1s and Transit and Sherpa vans - but they are all slightly different. The nearest that I have seen to your pics are some Jaguar calipers if that helps.

From memory - I would need to recheck to confirm - the mounting lug spacing centres are 2.75". Most of the calipers mentioned above have the same mounting lug spacing and 12mm bolt holes.

I am looking for some single piston calipers and carriers with the same spacing if anyone knows of such a beast?

The standard calipers on the early cars are Granada MK2 based and the disks were solid. There is an upgrade to replace the disk with a vented one and use the necessary wider calipers off a Granada Estate. Both solid and vented disks are the same diameter. Some people have upgraded to the Princess Calipers with the Granada vented disk but I believe there is some pad overhang. The later bigger engined Wedges used special AP manufactured 'Bells & Rotas with the Princess Calipers.
As the hubs & brakes are Ford based and not TR7 I haven't heard of a 'Volvo' upgrade for the Wedge. Cheers Steve.
