Steering Column Bush (Again)

Hi Guys need your help
Just reading about bulkhead bush a few messages ago.I have an 89 350i and the column looks Ford. The bulkhead bush is worn, I have had a look under the wheelarch and it looks like it has a roller bearing fitted.Can anyone tell me if the later cars had this or has someone been here before me.Does anyone know what bearing the later (Ford) type is. Any help gratefully recieved as the MOT is due soon.

I changed mine over easter as it was very very worn!
I bought the roller bearing kit although this didnt fit...it appears that the part fro mine was ford, which i took out and had matched from my fine local ford dealer...
I might be able to find the reciept...if not, im sure the guys at TVR Car parts or RT racing will know...
If it helps, mine is a 400se 1989 (although there is not logic to the parts thrown together to make the wedges im sure!!!)

My car is a 1990 and has the Granada column.
When I had problems the factory told me the car had a ball bearing from original. However there is a plastic spacer that that has a triangular hole to fit the column and a round outer that pushes into the ball bearing.
The plastic bush was badly worn hence the column movement. All that was needed was a new plastic bush (a Ford part) which is now available from TVRCAR PARTS.
It may come as a 2 part plastic bearing you just don't use the outer part (this is replaced by the ball race)
I have a part number somewhere is you get stuck.

will give TVR car parts a ring and get the bush. It should transform the car as there is a lot of play in the old one and the column moves (or is that shakes) when going over rough terrain (rough terrain being any road that is not silky smooth) Will let you know how I get on
