"Help with 1989 350i Speedo Gear" request in Another Place

Spotted this in the Other Place and thought it may be read quicker if posted on here. I personally aint got a clue aht it's about

Cannae access that site Jim, but my guess is it'll be something to do with the nylon drive gear in the gearbox that spins the speedo cable. Several different versions were fitted (different colours) depending on drive ratio and a change of gearbox can require a new drive gear to keep the speedo calibration correct.

Please could any wedge forum user help another member with details of the Speedo Gear for a 1989 350i. His speedo isn't working and needs to replace the gear. Rimmer Bros. have given him two options.

One black coloured gear
One red coloured gear.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Hmmm - I thought it was black! This needs checking. Also he might want to check his rear axle ratio before choosing.

I also have a green one and a cream (probably really white) one somewhere.

I believe it is the cream coloured gear you will need.
I have one in stock if you can't get one on that side of the pond.
