Fitted new steering column bulkhead bush today - what a difference,its like a new car. Have got another problem which I need your help with.
Its a 1989 350i - cold start no problem its when it gets hot it will not tickover. Sometimes when approaching a junction if you depress the clutch at about 900rpm it will tickover a bit before dieing, although its stopped doing that now.Engine runs well through out rev range its just tickover. Checked for air leaks etc and found nothing.Any help gratefully recieved as its MOT time soon

Timing, camshaft, a spark problem (leads, dizzy, coil etc), a fouled injector to name but a few... I'd check the basics and the cheap stuff first.
Have you any more info on the problem? Does the car run erratically anywhere else in the rev range / at certain speeds? have you recently changed anything? when was your last service? what has already been replaced? is it worse if the engine is hot or cold? Does it cut out all the time or just every now and again?
Is it driven a lot in traffic? Mine is and when It starts to misbehave, I have always found a good hard blat up the motorway to clear the cobwebs out works wonders.
