Tank capacity again

So,

I'll probably be posting about what fuel pump I need soon but anyhoo....

I found the bottom of the tank today, firstly I noticed when I slipped it into third for an overtake it just spluttered and popped, then about a mile later it started running a bit rough. I tried the F1 style waggle from side to side but no more juice was forthcoming.

I coasted into the petrol station a mile later on a rough tickover.

So - I thought - time to calibrate the tank. I was on a slight incline towards the passenger side and brimmed it to within 2" of the filler cap. The damage? 52.95 litres.

So - either the stated tank capacity is 8 litres - almost two gallons - optimistic, or my tank has two useless gallons slopping around inside when the pickup stops getting fuel.

Which is it?

the car has 2 tanks linked by a pipe whitch is about 1 1/2 to 2 in below the top of the tank so even if u fill the tank up to the top the n/s one allways has a air pocket at the top i dont no how much though
this might exslane some of the capacity that you missing

I thought it had 60 Ltrs any way not 80.
but I could be wrong.
