Any suggestions as to where I can get a new/recon motor and or mechanism?

Rimmer, only if their India SD1 stuff hasn't been sold out in the mean time.
Or to speed the system up: refurbish it and make sure it can move up and down with least resistance. Mine were always slow, but I think when it is not broken there is no need to fix it.... ;-)

Try Spraying some silicone spray in the runners, as it may just be sticking.

Dont !

A wedge does not have runners

But do try spraying silicon on the rubbers .. but try the window up/down with the door open.. is it still slow ?

Yeeeeeeesssssssssss

Painfully so.

If the door is shut the friction of the rubbers means I have to pull it up at the same time as hitting the switch. That gets intersting if you are doing 80 at the time.

Sounds like the motor..

Might be worth checking the cable that stops the window at the top
be not caught anywhere.. also did connect the window runner from the motor and see if that moves freely.

I cant do either windows up with the car doors shut and the roof up, can you guys? My drivers one is also pretty slow!

i put spray grease on my rubbers last week and the windows are a lot quicker now. well worh a try before you strip the door.

never spay silicon or wd40 on the window rubbers as it will over time make the rubber swell up over time
when i worked for bmw i was told to us hand telken powder or u can buy a can of window runner spray
i had the same prob on the 400 drivers side moter and changed the runner seals

rubber and nylon lubricant
