I would like to know if it's possible to install a high flow airfilter on a '83 TVR Tasmin.
If yes, I also like to know how.

Thanks,
Cath

You can fit a K&N if that's what you mean.

Yes, I mean a filter of K&N. We've been looking about where and how to place it, but we can't find it ourself. There is also nothing about it in the books (Hayens and the Wedge bible)

I don't think it is the same as a V8 (Rover), the Tasmin has a V6 (Ford). If you can find out which one (size etc), I can possebly order one in Holland. In Holland there isn't much known about the Tasmins because there are only 3 of them.

I don't know where the 280 filter is located but I have just sourced a conical green filter from Demon Tweeks. It is rated up to 300BHP and locates next to the O/S wheel arch, just under the bonnet grill. It's not on a 280 wedge so it may not fit, but there are alot of off the shelf filters available that should do the job...... It's just finding the right one.

I was thinking of going for a Green Filter, they do a great range of sizes, look good and are cheaper but are they as good as K & N anyone have any experience?

Andy.

I use ITG. Soap and water to clean, no messing with cleaner and re oiling. Not sure how it compares with K&N.
Just a thought.

I used a direct replacement K&N filter in my old 280i, it went straight in the original airbox, replacing the standard paper filter. You can get hold of the more "open and exposed" filters as on the bigger V8 wedges, but I do not have the reference numbers. You could try DEMON TWEEKS for advice, they have an export department, that can get the right parts to you. Tel 44 1978 664461 or email them on
"sales@demon-tweeks.co.uk"

Failing that, wait for 2sheds to get back in touch with you.

Hope this helps
