New exhaust troubles!!

Why, oh Why, oh why is nothing simple?!
After my rear section very kindly supplied by Darren (dont worry, havent forgotton about you matey!) and a new 'sports' centre section from TVR car parts i took it to my local performance garage. He's a really good guy and does all sorts of cars, although he admited that he doesnt se many wedges! He called them the 'TVR Bastard Child!'
Anyhow, the main issue is that the flanges on the downpipes are all knackered and i cant afford new ones (just boght my first place and shouldnt eally have the wedge at all!) so he's going to repair them with new ends...
I really do hope it looks and sunds good after all this! Pistonfest very soon, lemans shortly after and then the almighty BBW! Got some serious miles coming up!!!

Yep, I had to do mine. To make it all meet up nicely, I welded new flanges and flares onto the manifolds, and spotwelded a short sleeve inside the end of each manifold, sticking out of it by about 1/2 inch. The exhaust sealing ring fits over this sleeve snugly and butts up against the inside of the flare, so no leaks due to the ring moving every time you ground the exhaust.
Loads of exhaust goo, bolt it up, and jobs a good'un.

WHen I had my new exhaust back in 1999... I had noth flaired flanges cut off the down pipes, and the same on the new exhaust. then with the help of some split slieves and jubile clips, the exhaust was positioned, and then slieved in place and finally held firm with jubilee clips, then finally exhaust clamps. I used to knock the exhaust off on speed bunps, but now all itens have been suitabily "battered" clear.
