Removing ARB link...

Thought the ARB was going to be hard....but the link is even harder to remove. Got the ARB out and have loosened all the nuts/bolts to the ARB links....but can´t get them out?! Do I have to remove the steering link as well to get enough room?

If you mean the Tie bars - remove the 2 bolts onto the wishbone and at the front back the rear nut well down the tie bar which allows you to move it forword for clearance.
Actually its easier if you back the nut off while the 2 bolts remain in the wishbone (stops the tie bar turning)

No reason to touch steering related stuff. And the main tip is posted as well. And no need to undo the tie rods at the front as well (that is where the important adjustment is done for steering geometry). By the way, I always needed to take the tie rods completely off, before I was able to take the anti roll bar from the car/replace bushes.

Other thing that can happen is, that the new bushes do not fit. If you have Steve Heath stuff this doesn't apply. There are two types of anti roll bar: one with a small diameter (that needs a small diameter bush of course), and the large diameter one. Guess why I know..., and I am happy with my large diameter stuff (it is a men's thing).

Back again! Both tie rods gone and....... back again. Sorry David ,I didn´t do it like you said because I didn´t want to change any settings. It is possible to remove the tie rods by compressing the springs and keep them compressed by spring compressors ( used three and did one side at a time ) and lower the wishbone. That gives you enough room to manouvre the tie rod out.
(Rob) I also have the "men´s ting" thickness of my ARB and got the right bushes from the beginning! :-)
...since I read on this forum or in the bible that they came in two different versions.
Later this week I will put all things back, ARB, bushes and all. Perhaps I´ll get back to you all then?
