brake upgrades

having just stuck my rolling restoration back on the road the first thing i notice is that the brakes are rubbish - they are all new
what are the options please ?
it's a 350 with vented discs up front with what look like mk2 granada two pot calipers

Brake fluid is one, but you probably changed it in the process (dot 4 is ok, fast road dot 5.1 is handling heat even better). Brake pads are next: mintex fast road would be a simple next step. Further possibilities (my solution I went for): 300mm discs (vented grooved, not drilled) with 4pot calipers and mintex or EBC greenstuff. This fits just in the 15' rims, and was the first upgrade I did to the wedge.

what 4 pots did you fit rob ?

It is a set from hi-spec (billet something). I like them (good quality and value for your money), but others had various other experiences with them...

um, I have Hi-spec and have never been that happy with them. If you can get your hands on any, almost the best performing setup I had on mine was the original AP (Princess) calipers, with the bigger disks from Tower View and Tarox pads. Depends on the type of driving you do but the above setup was perfectly good for heavy track use. We had a number of problems with the Wilwood calipers (although others have been more than happy with them). I'd stay away from EBC pads but Red Dot and Mintex have been good. Quite a few previous posts about the subject so well worth doing a search.
