I have a H reg 400se. Drivers door does not seal properly and in even mild rain I get a constant drip. Fine on passenger side. Can door be adjusted or should I just accept "it's a TVR"?

Steve,
Yes they can be adjusted. My 400 had the same problem though on the NS. I had sensible quotes to get it done. I need to get it sorted on the new Wedge beasty as the doors sit too high Tricky job - consult Steve Heath's Wedge Book - I think he's on www.shpub.co.uk ?? - good luck.

The door is basically a glass fibre shell bolted to a steel frame. the steel frame is bolted to the car and would be difficult if not impossible to adjust IMO. The door skin should move a bit, if you take off the inner door pannel its not to hard to losen the nuts holding the door skin on and see it it will move a bit.
I would be tempted to try new seals first though if its not too noticible a gap.
Gareth.

Where does it come in? And how much?

Comes in along top of window towards the front. I can see that the window is not seating properly against the door seal at the top.

Is it a case of the top targa seal out of shape/place or where the top forward corner meets the door seal?
Also is there an inch or so of the top targa seal leading onto the door seal, which sounds the culprit? It should butt up over the door seal with the door closing on it.

Thanks for all your advice. I checked the seal on the targa top and there was a length at the front protruding about 2" which I cut back which has improved the seal. It is still not a good seal though. I consulted my copy of Steve Heath's book and it does show how to adjust the doors - I obviously missed it previously. Looks like one of those jobs that I could make a real mess of so I am going to book the car in to get it done properly.
