Where to find the paint code?

I'm kicking myself in the arse royally today.
I was in a rush to leave work and due to rain and fogged out windows, as I turned
out of my parking stall at work, I backed into the mudflap of one of our company's
Mack trucks!

I just about sh|t my pants hearing the noise, figuring the fibreglass is wrecked, but
the mudflap's 1/2 inch steel (solid) bar got the worst of it....LOL. Just a nice 3 foot
scratch down the passenger side going from the rear wheel well to the door handle.

I found a closely resembling "General Motors Ultramarine blue" touch up paint that does a
decent job of hiding it, but it's always been my intent to restore the car to tip-top shape
anyhow, so a respray is in order.

Does anyone know the paint code for Oceanic Blue? I was quoted $6,000 for a hood, bonnet, boot,
doors off paint job of top caliber. OUCH! OTOH, you gotta do what you gotta do. Feck me!

Paint code is stamped on the chassis plate. Look under the bonnet/hood? and on the passenger side wheelarch. The paint code is actually described as body code.

Thanks L33. BTW, there's no need for "bonnet/hood". You don't have to North Americanise for me...lol...I've adapted. It's rather funny, but refering to my roof as the hood, and hood as the
bonnet, and boot for trunk etc. etc. has become second nature to me. My friends think it's just
me taking the "brit car thing" a wee bit too far, but in reality, it's from spending too much time
here with you guys....lol.

I'll draw the line at growing a welsh accent and looking for a sheep.

One question about the paint code tho... I took the blue beast to a autobody shop today and
asked if they could match the paint, spray the section, then buff it to match...they couldn't
but the guy told me it's a two-tone paint job of nearly identical colours. Apparently the
pinstriping is the cover for the seam, and surely enough, over the front wheel arch where there is no
pinstripe, a faint seam in the paint can be seen...how do I know which colour from the paint code?

Sounds like a PO has had a similar "problem" to you in the past and had either top half or bottom half re-painted.

Would it not be better just to get the whole car done esp if you want it to look the nuts.

Is that 6,000 goonies? That's only 400 quid isn't it, not so bad then.
