Stabiliser to lower control arm?

I'm probably using the wrong terminology here since I'm more used to dealing with
MacPherson strut suspensions that what the wedge has. In essence I need the "physically lowest" stabiliser bar in the front suspension. It's also the one
that connects the furthest front.

Apparently some metal fatigue has had it cracked for a very long time. You can see the old crack where it's rusted and the shiny steel were it finally broke off. (at the nut)

L33, I remember you showing a pic of your parts car, do you care to sell me the piece
I need?

If I can't get one of these, I think I'm fecked royally.

Well tvrcarparts.com doesn't list any in stock.
I wrote them a letter seeing if they can source me one, but seeing how it's not a part
likely to fail (unless you're an unlucky bastard like me) I think I might just be
fuxxored until a wedge gets totaled and parted out.

I am about to ebay all my wedge spare parts, not quite sure from your description which parts you need? I have a pair of upper wishbones ford new old stock, pair of very good condition lower wishbones, new lower ball joints, pair of very good front links with new bushes and washers. It must surely be one of those?

I need the bar that runs from the frame to the wishbone....left side.

taimar78, aka Marshall Moore and I were just one the phone...he' checking to see if he has one and will phone me back shortly.

Due to the fact we're both in North America, I'll buy "locally" if I can, simply because I'd want to spend my money making sure such a valuable and close resourse remains economically feasible.

If he doesn't have what I need, I'll snap a photo and post what's broken.

Apparently after speaking to him on the phone, the proper term for what I need is the "leading link".

Put a link up on the wedge pages when you do.

Have you scrapped a car or just got a lot of spare.

If you have scrapped one, what was it.

If you just cant get one, you could have a machine shop make up something that would probably be better. I would think a flat plate where it bolts onto the wishbone with those 2 19mm bolts, and the rosejoint linking to a piece of bar that is threaded and goes thru the chassis to the front.

Given the amount of flex required of the bushes to accomodate the cacky-shaped bit of metal that is nicked from the Ford Cortina Mk3/4/5 (original leading link), I think the rosejointed solution might be a better bet too.

All this assumes you want to get designing and go down the custom route!
