Thinking of buying a wedge.

Im thinking of buying a wedge,but have limited space in my garage,i just need to find out the length of the 350 to see if i can fit it in the garage,any help appreciated.

The sales brochure on the 350i shows a length of 158" (4013mm) and a width of 68" (1728mm). Hope it fits

Mine (just!) fits in my garage (std size) with 3ft deep racking at the rear And my Owners Handbook states 4013mm too - FHC same as the Convertible

Thanks for the quick replies guys,i need to get a smaller water tank which is stored in the garage,at a moment the wedge would be sticking out by about 5inches,so i guess the tank has got to go.

Definitely get rid of the water tank - a Wedge is much more important!

On the other hand, can you raise the tank?

i had a 350i.
was close to the worst car i have ever had.
handling is shocking and its famous for it
later versions are better.
just my opinion of course.

The water tank is a 1000litre tank,be a bit hard to raise it,will have to get a thinner one i think,with regard to a wedge being one of the worst cars you had,its all pot luck how lucky you are,i use to run a 57 anglia with a 302ci,chopped,tubbed, and never had no major problems with it.

Okay, the Series 2's (including 350i's) were better handling than the 1's with the improved suspension etc, but personally I think a 350i is a good first choice of a wedge - it's not as likely to 'bite' a newbie driver than the larger-engined models, but gives enough of an indication as to how they might be like to drive....

Having driven many, many sportscars on and off the track, I quite like the handling of my '84 350i - sharp on the front and loose on the back, without being too hard to control the oversteer. Yes, I can get through the twisties faster in my Focus, but that's not really the point. The TVR is FUN!! It's a driver's car - be it 350i or SEAC, it will still split your face ear-to-ear!

Go for it!! Who needs water anyway???!!

don't forget to check the width as well as the length.....I have about 2 inches either side of the wing mirrors through the garage door even though the internal dimension is just about ok.

Why not empty the tank and than raise it? Can you do that? What is the water for?

1000 litres weighs just about a tonne, so emptying it first would be handy.
