Anyone know why the header tank inlets are on the wrong side. I know they justed used a ford header tank. but just wondering why they chose that one.
Also is there any recomended size for a header tank. is bigger better or smaller.
Also it has a overflow, the new style ones with the new style caps, don't have a overflow pipe. is this because cars are more relible and lesslikly to overflow.
I did have the option on my new tanks made to have them old or new style, I stuck with the old style. (was the the right choice.)

www.nfauto.co.uk sell a rather nice polished ally expansion tank with a couple of mounting options, and it seems to fit rather nicely in place of the placcy Ford one.
Its about 100 quid IIRC.
Please dont just take my word about the fit: I only measured up the principal dimensions, and it seemed that it would go nicely.
It'll get rid of the unwanted extra vent stub too. Well, it will be unwanted assuming youve done what I have and removed the dappy hotspot and replumbed the air bleed and heater systems...

Well I've had a custom tank made with all the same size inlets and outlets, just on the other side, plus the out coming from the side also not the bottom.
Was just curious about the design, I'm surprized TVR kept the hot spot.
I have just joined the hoses together to bypass the hot spot. is that ok. never really checked where it comes from.
