Headlamp pod is parking too low

Got the pod working, but I have noticed that it is parking deeper and deeper into the recess as the months go by. It now sits a good centimetre too low at the front edge.

Having stripped the park switch assembly and gearbox apart before, I know my way around the motor. As the output arm rotates to the "right" place, it nudges a nylon pin which cuts the motor power.

I guess this nylon pin is wearing, and maybe the contact needs bending a little to make them part company a litle earlier?!?

Any other ideas??

Ive tried adjusting the bumpstops, but the motors are powerful and just push them out of the way...
