I think they look really good, have been considering a set for my 400 but the legality of them has put me off.

Yep, only legal on cars pre-'73 IIRC. I had a K reg Simca that had them, by L reg they were gone.

I beleive that failure to display a number plate is NON endorsable with a max £30 fine? Correct me if I'm wrong. Given the fact there are so few wedges on the road, Plod might not know one end from another. It may be worth the risk?

plus a Scamera isn't going to take your picture for a number plate and what are the chances of meeting Plod on the road these days?

i have a black and silver plate on the back of my G reg bike and have done for about 8 years.... in that time I have only been stopped once for it, by a motorcycle copper, who gave me a bollocking and said if he saw me again with this plate on it would be a £30 fine and a trip to the MOT centre to proove I had changed the plates...... - i never saw him again

The £30 fine can go up to £1000 for repeat offences and the number plate can be 'revoked'.

The plates look good, I've been tempted although I'm not sure what they'll look like on a red car.

Maybe if the plate is revoked, they might give me another number plate that reads "TVR 1"?
