I knew TVRs were expensive to run, but so far it's costing me 600quid a month in maintenance alone, according to my log in 'My Cars'.
Hope things settle down. I can't keep that up.

Sourse parts yourself, buy them from a motor factors and get your spanners out. Otherwise if it aint broke don't fix it.

Wow, that most recent bill on your profile is a biggie. Was it all imediately necessary or was some of it preventative??

Hope you get the squeak sorted.

Yeah it was a biggie. It was pretty much all required now. I could perhaps have left the wheel bearings, but then I might have had something nasty happen at speed on the motorway. Perhaps I could have let the rear UJs go for a bit longer, but then the driveshafts might have needed more atention when I came to do it.; As it was, all they needed was the yoke.
All in all, better to do it now, I figured.
As for the squeak, it seems to have vanished. Richard was on the phone to me first thing, and if it does come back, I'm sure he'll sort it. As I said in my other thread, I really would recommend RT, and wouldn't want the mysterious squeak to cast aspersions.

I could have done enerything myself, and saved about 600 quids worth of labour...except that it's my only car, and I couldn't do as quick as a professional - like I'd need a month of weekends to do the wheel bearings. And if I suddenly got busy, that could easily run to several months. (I have very busy weekends.)
Don't be put off by my history if you are prepared to get the spanners out.

Confucious, him say "only run TVR at weekend when sun is shining and with RAC membership"
Your bills do sound well over the top though. Perhaps you need a different mender?
