Anyone know of anyone who can go the OZ wheels.

Also an idea of price.

Also I've seen some wheels with sunken valves, where can you get these and how hard are they to fix.

Thanks again
Leigh

there are a couple of problems with the OZ 5 spoke splitties:

The bolts are not a standard head. They look like a bi-hex, but with only 10 points on. The sockets are RARE!!! I would estimate it is possible to drill them out on the rear face of the wheel given suitable jigging and a good pillar drill. It is possible to buy new bolts on ebay from a chap called boraboy_115. The bolts and nuts are £1 a throw, hence £120 quid total.

The replacement bolts are standard Bi-hex, so bi-hex sockets will do it. Most sockets are bi-hex!

Spit and Polish in Tonbridge will refurb them for about £50 per wheel, but they will want you to have the tyres dismounted, split the rims, and reassemble them afterwards, i.e. they dont do splitting/reassembling!

There are other companies out there. Google is your friend here.

HTH.

That's a reasonable price even if they are not splitting them . I know of two places that do really good work ,one is by me,Renowheel in South Wales where mine were done before I bought the car and the other is in Milton Keynes, seen the best ever finsh on a car at BBWF06.However pricing for this work seems to be quite high ranging from £180.00 to £225.00+vat a wheel (last Years pricing). As stated a few split themselves then get the work done. I also have a contact in germany who can get the original bolts , if thats any help,

Pristine alloy wheels in Milton Keynes, tel no 01908 282628.
RenoWheel in Bridgend tel no 01656 657993 .

Nothing like stunning splitrims ............yup!!!!

thank you.

anyone know about the hidden valves.

I have found a company that will do them for 45, but will only polish the outer rim,
Or about 85 if they split them. or 110 if they paint the centres at the same time.

I'm thinking of having them colour coded.

Hi

I rented the tool from a top bloke in Holland who also sold me the replacement nuts and bolts. I'm sure someone will have his contact details as he posts on here infrequently.
I seem to recall ??? Hansdahl I can recommend him.
Splitting the rims is a right ball ache of a job - allow a full day to get them apart and about 5 days for your hands to recover and get feeling back in your finger ends...yes

Hi Leigh,

I dont know if you have noticed my wheels, but i did mine myself! Took ages but its not that hard, just takes ages!

very simple...

1) Get the tyres taken off
2) Take some brave pills
3) buy some nitro-moors (yes i did mean nitro moors the paint stripper!!!) and CAREFULLY paint onto the rim (only) and the laquer will come off instantly. Keep going and take it all off. I only did the face and didnt go between the
bolts as youll never be able to polish between without taking them out
4) Polish away with a drill!!!
5) Polish some more
6) Tyres on and admire!!

Total cost...about £6!

I was tempted to try them myself.

I've ordered some flush valve caps also. so should make it easier to polish round the value,

I may try doing the tuscan wheels 1st. the bigest problem with them though is the centers are red.

goting to try and t-cut them to see if there is a colour underneath.

p.s.
Matt-Man did you get my Email

Looks good,

But the person who fitted your tires did not know what they was doing as the red spot it there to line up with the valve.

Why?
scratchchin

The reason I ask is I've just had a new set of 20" rubbers put on the X5 today and the red dot doesn't line up with the valve either - and that was a very well known and very prestigious tyre dealer!

Edited to say something here:

No - I wouldn't call Kwik-fit upmarket or prestigious - just expensive.
