Fired up my series 1 350 a few weeks ago and it rattled as well as burbled. I left it as I tend to use the SEAC then one of my colleagues (Mr. Leadfoot) moved it and was thraping it and the follower must have pumped up as it now burbles merryely to itself -- aah.

14hours to go and all things still working, just checked her over!

I have a cheque and docs ready to go and get tax afterwards, mindless optimism never hurt anyone

Mmmmm Don't think a V6 burbles so much but she's still nice.

Still not sold the kit car yet, boo, she's sitting outside keeping TVR company, hiding under tarpaulins!

Other than her proceeding to cease brmming in the middle of a busy junction on the way back. Wouldn't turn over, sounded like flat battery but then decided to start after I pushed her 200 yards, waited 15 mins thn tried again.

Here's a brief list, minor items first:

headlights too low (was going to get them done if everything else passed)
track rod end excessive play (hmmm, not convinced, will look again)
missing lock nut on roll bar drop link (dunno where it went, little bu$$er, I remember buying them especially)
split pin missing in front top balljoint (picky)

leak in front left brake somewhere (it wasn't b4, but brake fluid came from somewhere, perished piston seals maybe?)
Nearside rear handbrake crap
Offside rear handbrake binding (guess I'll strip them down as I read someone else did recently)
Offside rear wheel bearing, excessive play (hmmm, arse)

I can't disagree with the points, I did watch while he did it.

I wouldn't be so unhappy if it wasn't for the breaking down on the way back

It is kind of good to have a checklist to aim at and I did need an independant perspective on it.

I haven't touched the brakes at all while I've had it, they seem to be the main problem area. It's tricky to know if they're all working properly or not with it sitting on my drive. Wouldn't be surprised if the dragging rear brake is due to the dodgy bearings. I guess it's not too bad really, time to order some more bits :-( Hmmmm, caliper knackered, hmmmm, brake upgrade, hmmmm......and do I do the rear wheel bearings myself, we'll see. Kick those thoughts of selling her out my mind!

Back to lying on the drive, at least there's no snow at the moment

If you're trying to make me jealous, you've succeeded nicely!

Sounds like you had fun though think I'll have to have some 2 wheeled therapy tomorrow

You confuse me with that? What croft preview? Hmmm, perhaps I haven't woken up yet. Do we get to see piccies then?

I've stopped being so negative now. Had a good look today. The caliper prob was just a loose union, fixed the other easy bits and established I only need to spend £150 on bits. 2 track rod ends and rear wheel bearings (might do both sides)

The handbrake calipers might need removing, cleaning and adjusting. It looks like the arm/lever is hitting something so presumably at limit of travel. Guess something needs twiddling elsewhere......
