It's like a little grippy container on the dash to hold a flower in place.
VW copied the idea later on for the new Beetle yes

Alright alright! hippy
I thought it was something to do with the handling, just googled them and it is! I wish I had more time in the world to read up more! My handling feels ok actually, wouldnt SH drop links be a good improvement if I wanted to improve on them, just the brakes to do one day, and a few mysterious rattles here and there confused

Its a 1991 caterham HPC vaux. 2L 16v 190.01 bhp '7' , which works out to 320bhp/tonne at 580kg , she has an iron block thats why she's heavier than a k series , but more torque and sounds lovely/pops/bangs and is an overtaking machine , corners , rounderbouts , loves them , very quick car , doesn't have that v8 sound or presence of a wedge though. Strangely enough the seac came from near west Malling , WLA tvr dealership originally , within a few miles of the '7' and same age too , I think they know each other , may have crossed paths !

Rose joints are those nice things sold by Steve Heath that replace the standard thingys at the ends of the roll bar , fun putting them on , although they went on the 390 reasonably well . No rubber bushes on rose joints so they stiffen up front suspension considerably so cornering is flat not bouncy , easier to attempt to keep up with some hairdresser in a porker boxster !
