Wow - that looks superb...

Are the mounting points the same .. make sure by putting the rads side by side when you remove the old one..

How much was it .. about £400 I would guess..

Yes I had them side by side and top to bottom, and side to side everything is 100% the same.

Was 380 + madVat

But need to fit a top pipe on the right where the bleed screw is. its strange as the Griff rad on ebay had the pipe but the ali one don't

Just need to by the fan now £80 each plus vat.

Very shiny indeed, but what's with the plate on the back? 2 nice holes for mounting the fans but the remaining third of the radiator surface is blanked off. Will this not restrict air flow / cooling somewhat?

Well that's the cowling, it makes sure all the air get sucked threw the fan, also stop heat soak from the engine bay.

It actualy helps keep it cooler

Ouch - that is pricey .. but is around what I expected it to be..

Make sure there is some sort of rubber to allow some give in the mounting. If its mounted to rigidly when the body flexes it can also twist the rad..

Well the bottom bracket is a slot fit so should allow a bit of give. but It was very very tight, so don't think I can fit in any rubber. plus its mounted to the fiber glass, and that sould not move much, else the gell coat would crack.

I have taken these brackets to be sand blasted and acid dipped, Im getting the mod motor brackets done also.

The fan are a killer also £80 each plus vat, then I got to re-wire them as they need seperate feeds of 30Amp each. with relay controls.

Fans ordered

£177.54 inc Vat Free postage smile

From http://www.mphillips.co.uk/axial.htm

2 x VA10-AP50/C-61A 3010.1522 305 mm 63 mm 2270 m3/hr 12.4 Amps Suction

So should keep it cool as that what the Griff 500 has.

Standrard fans are
VA10-AP9/C-25A 3010.0375 305 mm 52 mm 1460 m3/hr 7.0 Amps Suction

So will prob have about 4 time normal with the 2.

I think I'll have problems keeping it warm wink

I got a new Leven Griff cooling otter kit also, which goes in the black gromit plus on the right.

I will used the old wiring to trip the new wiring board I'm going to make up.

I think some people have said to drive the Fan from the starter motor positive.

Well it been of the road too long,

And don't want that to happen again.
As im enjoying using it again at last. its nice to have the TVR grin back on my face.

once its back on the road I can tinker with all the small bits.

Plus once the cooling is sorted and Im not losing fluid I can start to give it some rev's
And then get it set-up on the rolling road.

I've got a Jag EAV to go on also, should help with the idle. it's back to how it was, but it's never been great cold.

Will prob wait a few months before I put all the suspension on and new bushes. as I want to get all the wish bones and A-Frams re-power coated. so will be off the road for 2-3 weeks. may get the calipers done also. as they are a mess.

All the rest I can do after work.

Well the only mod you need to do is get a griff otter switch and fit a pipe to the bleed screw.

But its 100% the same size,

Also you got to add £180 for the fans plus relays and sockets and cable.

Already factored the fans in with the other option. I am assuming this is a very good spec. Far better than my own.

Thank you for your comments, PH was a bit buggy last night.

Also J what spec do you have, and what temp does your car run at now.

The spec now is not what I did have which was superb. The superb one was arranged by the chap who built my engine. Unfortunatly it leaked after a year and no time to send it back so took it to the local well known experts who put in Mr Average. Don't like it but it appears to cope. I avoid traffic as the temp will rise in standing stuff. Probably why I don't like the too organised runs as you can spend time sat in traffic getting hot under the collar as well.

Also, as per builders instructions, no thermostat in the summer and thermostat in the winter. Hottest is a tell tale on a core plug showing 125 which I suspect is wrong. Temp indicator on the top hose showing 82 (car at work, me at home so not able to check). Gauge has shown 90 but I have never let it get to the red as I am paranoid about getting the heads warped. Probably unjustlly so but the hit the first time around was enough to make me try to keep it sound.
