Looks like there is going to be another WSV mk3.
As it seem it's going to be the best way to tow the Tasmin Race car 4.0 v8, plus if I make it into a semi camper then I can sleep in it, and save on hotel bills etc.

Anyone know the cheapest way to insure a Van, as most companies will only insure vans as commercial vehicles.

Thanks
Leigh

Aha - you're going racing! That explains the need for spare bodies etc...

My dad runs a Land Rover LWB that is officially a van, insurance way about £150 last year, I'll try and find out the broker.

If you convert it there is a company I use that is quite reasonable, but they say you need minimum bits fitted, eg sleeping bed, cooking area, and eating area, but to fit that out would not cost that much.

Whatever you do do not get an auto V8 petrol, or else you'll have no money left for the actual racesmile

On the other hand, if you blow the engine in the race car, you can always nick the one out of the van then put it back after ;^)

Leigh. I used AJ insurance service Tilbury for my van for along time for private use , just had to write a letter of declaration that it was not for work purposes , they were competative at the time, maybe worth a try

I would like to have a V8, but know its not pratical. so going to stick with the 2.5 dirt burner.

I will be sleeping in it so will be fitting a bet and a stove anyway.

The more I save on insurace and fuel the more I can spend racing wink

If you fit a sink & bed you can get the registration changed to camper van. this changes the MOT catagory and can help on the insurance as they class vans as high risk

Thanks
