My car was due for an MOT this week so I spent a bit of time last weekend checking lights etc, but I couldn t get the driving lights to work. Mine is a 1989 350 i, with driving lights in the spoiler. After a bit of head scratching and checking bulbs and circuits with a multi meter, I still couldn t find anything wrong. Found out by chance that for them to work, the headlights have to be on, the switch on the dashboard has to be on and then the driving lights only work when the headlights are on high beam. Is anyone else s wired up like this?
Also I need a new headlamp motor. I ve been told they are off a TR7. I ve been on Rimmer Bros website and they have them. Before I order one can someone confirm it is the right motor or has someone got a spare one they want to sell?
Well pleased cos the wedge past the MOT no problems, so another 12 months wedging for me!!
Thanks
Jon

Thanks for your replies, guys:
Leigh - I ve biffed the front wing when backing the car out of the garage last week, not much damage, but the LH headlamp pod jammed when I switched the headlamps on. I should have pulled the fuse out straight away, but didnt. Was on my way to local TVR meet, and by the time I got there the motor must have burnt out. Several helpers at the club looked at it and it was red hot to touch and hasn t worked since. MOT man confirmed there is power getting to the motor and thinks it is burnt out. Thats why I want a new one.
Keith - thanks for your offer, but I m near Blackpool. Suppose it will be pretty heavy to post, I ll have to see how much R Bros sting me for postage on an exchange one!!
Cheers
